If there were such thing as the spelling police, the tattoo artists who inked these poor souls would be arrested and sentenced to life behind bars. And, if a tattoo artist is not responsible for their hilariously awful spelling mistakes, then the only one left to blame are the ones wearing the tattoo.

I wish they would hand out dictionary's to every tattoo artist in the world. That way they could look a word up if they didn't know it before permanently marking up someone's body with a misspelled tattoo. It's permanent ink, what are they thinking?!

While we truly feel bad for these tortured ink lovers, we also can't help but laugh at their tattoo misfortune. Seriously, these are some truly funny mistakes that are possibly made even funnier by the scary fact that some of these people pictured might not even know that their tattoo is spelled wrong.

My favorite pictures in this misspelled tattoos gallery is when people post their Facebook statuses and you see relatives write in saying things like "you're missing an apostrophe" or "that's not how you spell that word." Hopefully at that point they're back at the tattoo studio trying to get that thing covered up. And remember, if you're going for a tattoo make sure you can see the sketch of it BEFORE they do it!
